So I know I told a lot of people this would go up at 6PM today, but I've had a bit of Hectic day, so in light of that, this is just a quick update on the Titans, check em out:

18.08.13 (THE RETURN OF THE TITANS)

Those rare few of you who have been reading my Blog since it started way way back, will recognise these guys:

Those are my 'Titans' something I was incredibly proud of. Well, after almost a year of improvement and research and pondering I'm revisiting them, and this time I intend to follow through with this, and really go all out. I'm going to make a comic based around these and see how far I can get in pursuit of this.
So with this ambition in mind, here are my first 2 Titans... Or one and a half, I'm actually still working on Aguera as I type this, so you'll have to check back next sunday for the finished result.

Thanks for checking this out, I hope you like them as much as I do!

04.08.13

I dont think I posted last week, being that I didnt have much to post... I got stuff to post this week though :)

I started a Sonic piece, which was supposed to be semi-realistic, so that things like his shoes, gloves, spines and nose were more realistic, but things like his eyes and such werent too realistic so as to detract from it being Sonic... This was a bad idea and the design has been abandoned...

Sucks.

Anywho, Apart from this, I've of course been working on that blasted map project still, haha, it's taking it's time as there's a large gap between responses from the commisioner, I dont think ive heard from him for a whole week, before today.
I can't show you these, but all they need now is their locations and points of interest adding...

And lastly, I've made myself an adventure-time-style character, who is now pretty much my youtube mascot, as can be seen in this thumbnails, the first of which go up tomorrow :)

Speaking of my YouTube, don't forget to check it out, I upload as many as 6 videos daily! And I'm struggling for views and subscribers, so help me out :) http://www.youtube.com/user/TheDblTap

It's Sunday again, and you know exactly what that means, don't you?... Yes you do... YES you do, don't lie to me. *sigh* IT MEANS I have a new blog post for you.
... Where?...
What do you mean where? It's right here of course, this is it, you buffoon.

This week I have been working mostly on some freelance work I managed to get and my YouTube channel WHICH YOU DEFINITELY NEED TO CHECK OUT. Seriously now guys, please. Ahaha, here, I'll make it easier for you:

Don't forget to subscribe!!

As for artwork, Like I said, I've been working on commission work so I only have one thing of my own to show you, and it's a stylised comic drawing of me:

That's pretty much it all though, I've been very very busy. Thanks for reading again though :)

07.07.13

Hello, hermanobrochachomanos, it is Sunday, but it's not 6... I didnt realise, but I've gone WAYYYYY past 6 o'clock without updating my blog!! :O
So here is my blog update!

My schedule has pretty much gone out of the window at this point, there's just so much going on, and I havent really had the time to work on 3D or C#, BUT I have been working on my artwork...
Firstly, there's the zombie comic I told you about last week, that's still on and I've made a cover for it, but the script has been scrapped and is now being written by my best friend, Ash is an AMAZING writer, so you guys can really look forward to that. I also plan on POSSIBLY making it into a motion comic to be put on my YouTube channel, speaking of which, GO CHECK IT OUT, why arent you subscribed? I do LPs, the channel has only been going for about 2 weeks, and I've LPd Deadpool (which I've now finished, boy what an awesome game) and Kerbal Space Program (Also goddamn amazing) AND (viewers of my channel wont know this yet) Hexxit! I started recording a Hexxit series last night and the first episode should be up either tonight or tomorrow so subscribe so you dont miss it!

Oh, almost forgot, here's the cover I mentioned, haha:

The only other thing I've done (as I'm waiting on the script still, and Ash is having a bit of a tiring time at home at the moment) is this PewDiePie fanart:

If you followed me on twitter, you will have seen my 2 shameless attempts at getting Pewds to see it, both of which failed, ahaha, oh well :P

Okay, so I have a lot of LPs to render and want to do some more Hexxit, so I'll leave it here, hopefully next Sunday I'll have a page or two to show you :) Thanks for reading! Byeeeee :)

Sunday 30 June 2013

30.06.13

This week i really just gave myself the week off, ive been feeling increasingly under the weather and sleep has eluded me like never before, however I still squeezed in a bit of work here and there...
Firstly, I started posting LPs (Let's Play) to my heavily underused YouTube channel, which you can check out here: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheDblTap

I also started on and completed a script for a short comic which I hope will help me get some more comic-based comission work. For this, I have created 2 concept images, one of which isn't complete yet:

Thanks for checking my work out :)

Sunday 23 June 2013

23.06.13

okay, so its sunday and its 6 o'clock (more-or-less) so I'm going to fill you in on what ive managed this week...
This week I havent done any C# or 3D at all, unfortunately, but I've done quite a bit in other areas...

Firstly, Monday was spent doing this:

An illustration of my favourite Pokémon, Scollipede. I'm very pleased with how this turned out.

Now, last week my friend and I had an idea which really fabricated something I've been considering for a while. Now, as I'm prone to changing my mind a hell of a lot, I wont tell you what it is until I start doing it. But I'll show you the 3 animations I've made for use when I begin it...

In the first one, I have animated my friend's signature animal in relation to his Logo which features a wolf:

The second one, which took much longer and a lot more research, is my signature stag, from my logo, of course. You will have seen this gold-antlered albino stag in a lot of places on my blog:

And the last of these, utilizes the stag animation. Again, I won't say what this is for but I'm sure a few of you can guess...

Okay, that is this week's blog update, I'll try get some more C# and 3D done next week, since I don't have a right lot more I can do on this secret project just yet...

** EDIT ** Oh my, I forgot to mention... I REACHED 6,000 VIEWS :D My blog, now, gets between 30-40 views a day and on some days as many as 50-70... Which to me is quite a big number considering when I started I got 1-8 views a day! So thank you all who come here and read my drivel, ESPECIALLY those who come regularly, it means a whole lot more to me than you think :)

Sunday 16 June 2013

16.06.13

looks like it's that time again! I considered skipping today's, or at least putting it off until later tonight to spend time with my dad for fathers day, but he's buggered off to see his squeeze, so I'm on my bill, writing blog posts, haha.

Right, as usual, nothing in terms of C# to show you, and as a matter of fact I don't think I've done any C# this week, been kind of distracted...
Same goes for 3D, I really just spent a lot of time touching up polygons and stuff on the fused-together model of that girl, not really enough to warrant showing you guys. And I also made just a couple of new designs in Photoshop, one being a commission for a friend who REALLY likes Bidoof (if you want anything like this doing, don't hesitate to ask, I do charge a commission fee though).

And the other thing I did was just a practice with a new way of doing my lineart, I've started image tracing my lineart in illustrator as it makes it smoother, as this was really just a test I haven't really put a lot of effort into the colouring and shading aspects:

Thats all I've got this week though, I'm not feeling particularly great at the moment and dont really have much motivation this week, and I've also been kind of distracted. It's hard to keep motivated when your projects are non-profit and for yourself, but when it's a paid commission it's easier to get enrapt.

Thanks for reading :)

Sunday 9 June 2013

09.06.13

This week I have accomplished quite a few things in comparison with the amount I have accomplished in earlier weeks. It seems I am getting my motivation back and actually getting somewhere with my work :)

Firstly, as ever, so far, I am yet to actually produce something of value with my C# training which I can show you to demonstrate what I have learned.

Secondly, I have finally completed the rather LARGE image I have been working on this past 2 weeks. I have spent a fair amount of time attempting to produce this, and while it is finally complete and I have received some positive feedback from all who have seen it, I am greatly disappointed in the final piece. Here, I shall share it with you:

Affectionately entitled 'Battle of the Gods' this piece features a dogfight of the following: The Pillar of Autumn (Halo), The SSV Normandy SR2 (Mass Effect), The Starship Enterprise (Star Trek), The Death Star (Star Wars), Samus Aran's Ship (Metroid Prime), Bowser's Airship (Various MArio Games), The TARDIS (Dr Who), The Millenium Falcon (Star Wars), Charizard (Pokémon), A Cylon Fighter Vessel (BattleStar Gallactica), Iron Man Mk 42 (Iron Man 3), Winged Nazgul (Lord Of The Rings), F22 Raptor Fighter Jet (Real Life), Dalek (Dr. Who), Arwing (Star Fox), Tie Fighter (Star Wars), Hurrican Mk II (historical fighter plane), Alduin (Skyrim) and the S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier (Marvel Universe, namely, the Avengers Assemble movie). This seemed a good idea nad I had high hopes for it, but I kind of expected more from myself...

Upon completion of this, I went on to create this image of a Snowy Owl within a few hours:

Nothing much to say about this really, just felt like it if I'm perfectly honest...

And lastly, where I've made possibly, the most progress this week is in 3D modelling. As for the girl I've been working on, she now has a head and that head now has ears:

That damned line on her stomach is becoming more and more of a thorn in my side... But It's coming along, so there you go...
That's not all I've done in terms of 3D this week though, oh no...
I have been playing the new mystery dungeon Pokémon game for 3DS and liked the new 3D models, with their simple shape and texture. Seeing this, I figured maybe I could pull it off... So I decided to make a 'simple' 3D model of a Stag (my logo, incase you havent noticed) in the same style... Although I havent learnt a thing about texturing yet, so expect horrific scenes...
When I finally got the model completed late last night, I was listening to Stephen Fry reading the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and decided to try and make my Stag look like a Patronus. And succeeded, I like this a great deal:

Ahaha, it looks kind of like a patronus, and kind of like my Stag is evolving... Anyway, today I decided to use my recreational time taking a serious approach with texturing it and seeing how I could do... I did terribly, horrifically so... So you can expect me to re-texture this when I figure all this lot out, hahaha.

I opened it in Photoshop and tried simply drawing the texture on... As you can tell I tried to keep the style of Mystery dungeon, with the eyes and simple textures, although I could have done with a smoother shader... To give the model the same matte smooth look as in the game... But, like I said, I'm inexperienced so far and still trying to get my head around things... also, excuse his face, as somebody told me 'he looks like he's pooing'...

Anyway, that's yer fill for this week! See you next week with hopefully more exciting things :)

EDIT: I just animated that Patronus thing, added some billowing smoke around it, it's kind of eerie... Shame it didn't render as sharp as I would have liked...

Sunday 2 June 2013

02.06.13

Well, it's 6PM on sunday again, which means it's time to share the week's endeavours with the internet... Not very much to show you this week, I've started on the head for my 3D model, which I will show you now...

It's coming along quite well and I had quite a bit of fun making it!

As far as artwork goes, I haven't done nothing, I've done quite a lot actually, it's just a REALLY big piece and isn't finished, so I probably won't have anything to show you until next Sunday, so look out for that.

And, once again, there's nothing I can really show you in terms of C# skill development at the moment, but I have learnt quite a bit this week!

Thanks for reading, see you next Sunday :)

Sunday 26 May 2013

26.5.13

Okay, so this week has been quite uneventful in terms of my schedule, I've had a lot going on and my inability to sleep and constant sleepiness has butchered my plans, so I plan to make a stab at it tomorrow and get back into the swing of things...
I will show you what I have done though, I didnt get much in the way of C# done, as I always had something in the way of my C# hours, I did get quite a bit of 3D done though, I shall show you the body I made using a tutorial (I'm working on the head at the moment):

I also got that picture done I was working on last week, but I'm not pleased with the outcome, my 'clever idea' for the background kind of flopped...

I then started on another piece which I think I'm going to scrap and start on something else, something bigger, I'll show you what I have of that other piece though...

And that's about it for this week, thanks for reading :)

Daily schedule

So, my friend and I came to the collective realisation that were almost 20, and need to start getting somewhere, so he devised a schedule with blank slots, which we both then filled in... Here is mine:

Recreational time is when I play video games, eat or work-out, Art Project times are when I work on anything from developing my style, to working on freelance projects. C# time is when I learn C# programming language, I'm completely new to this though... And 3D time, which, again, I'm generally new to, is learning to 3D model, obviously... And Account management is what I'm doing right now, filling out blog posts, posting new work to my facebook and my deviantArt and letting my twitter followers know I have a new blog post out...

Here are the fruits of this weeks Art Project time:

This here, is where most of the hours of this week went, into developping this style which I'm trying to perfect, I'm trying to combine the best parts of western and eastern comic styles.... It's a start, I do want the lines to be a bit thinner and I've been told the hair could be more realistic, which I agree with... The rest of my week has been spent working on this piece, which is unfinished, so I blurred it... +10 internets to anybody who can guess what it is before it's done...

In my C# time this week I've learned quite a bit when it comes to basics, such as writing to console, what classes are and all about IF, AND and OR statements. Obviously, I dont really have anything to show you guys as far as this goes just yet, but when I make a functioning programme or have some interesting screenshots I'll share them...

In my 3D time I have actually done a lot, but none of it is finished and it's all just following tutorials, one of the tutorials cut out half-way through so I wont get to finish that one, and the other one I just started, so I'll try and get you some interesting screenshots for next week when I'm a bit further along.

Thanks for reading :)

Still here

So, as some of you may have noticed, I haven't done much lately... much at all, not just artwork... and I really haven't been up to it... Some things have happened and I've lost nearly all my motivation and just been really down...

I have been trying to get some work done, it's just happening slowly, I started a painting-thing of a lobby and started practising figure drawing, which i'll attach below, but other than that I don't have much to share... I really wish I'd had more inspiration when I got the influx of people visiting after Iron Man 3, but this whole thing happened and I've struggled...

OH! I forgot to mention, I've been working on a series of Tees for Geeks, Nerds and Internet Aficionado's, I'll post a few, but to see them all, go to my spreadshirt site: http://doubletap.spreadshirt.co.uk/

Thursday 2 May 2013

Still Trying...

So, a couple of bad things have been going on lately, for one my computer decided to die, which scared the hell out of me and something else a little more personal which is affecting me pretty badly...
Anywho, I havent had much chance to do much work lately, and since the dreadful way 'Dragon Huntress' turned out, I've been greatly discouraged and have scrapped a total of 17 failed attempts of work... The only one that turned out okay, and that I kept AND finished, is this:

It looks quite good, but it's actually pretty far from what I was going for... Anyway, as you can probably tell, it's an android... I've got a little more time now and a few small ideas I can work on, so hopefully you'll hear from me again soon with something more interesting...

Oh, also, not too long after reaching 2,000 views, I reached 3,000! I'd probably be as excited about this as usual, except I know that my views have only increased so much because people are trying to get a closer look at Tony Stark's Iron Man suits from the new film, not because my artwork is any good.

Saturday 27 April 2013

Trying...

That's what I'm doing. As I said, I'm striving to improve my artwork in many ways... Here is my first major attempt:

Now, let me tell you what I did WRONG here. Her posing is terrible (as usual, I just cant get it right) HOWEVER, I did better than usual... Secondly, she's aiming wrong, I tried to make it seem like she's aiming where the dragon is GOING to be, but it just didn't strike people that way... Thirdly, I seriously messed something up when saving my progress on this and the bow, arrow, wheat and ground got accidentally fused into a layer and in trying to edit them all together, I made a lot of mistakes... When I drew the mountains they were very 2-Dimensional and in trying to make them 3D, I made a lot of mistakes... I then tried hiding all of my mistakes with lens blur, bright lighting, overlays, effect layers, and effectively took a hug shit right on top of it, just to polish it off.... So, it started off quite good, I started with the girl and was happy with a lot of my shading and colouring, but it eventually went in the wrong direction... But that's okay! I wanted to learn from this and I have. I'm just going to let it lay as a failure and move on, undeterred (well, slightly deterred) to the next piece... Also, yes, with Iron man 3 having come out, you CAN expect me to do another Iron Man painting... Even though I said I'd stop using references so much, I just have to do another... Wouldn't you agree?
I should also thank Iron Man 3 for my latest influx in views, aside from my best friend's DDoS attacks, most of my views are coming from people trying to find out more about all the cool suits they saw in Iron Man 3, and I know, they're pretty hard to find, but you shouldnt go by my 'Men of Iron' or whatever I called it, as reference because those were all drawn from the awesome Hasbro figures I'm collecting... So, I'll help you out, I can give you the names of a few and then you can google those or whatever...
Okay, so the new poster armor is no longer Mark VIII (8), but is Mk 42... Then the other armors you see in the film are known as 'Shotgun', 'Hammerhead', 'Iron Patriot', 'Igor', 'Starboost', 'Heart-breaker', 'Red Snapper', 'Striker' (one of my favourites), 'Silver Centurion' and there is a black and gold one which you see in the film, which is very similar to the Stealth Operations armor from the comics so... Maybe it's that? There are more, but that's all I know as of yet, unfortunately...

Also, I've been working on a bit of comission work lately, a bit of stuff for Lovebuzz clothing again and a map for a writer's book, check them out:
